The Croft has an abundance of charm
featuring oak beams, slate roof, original terracota tile floors. The furniture
has been specially selected to ensure that it sympathetically blends with the
original features of this gite. The Lounge, with its feature fireplace, has a great atmosphere and is a pleasure just to sit in and peruse a book or magazine during the heat of the day. It is also fitted with a television, video, DVD and CD/Music centre. The Lounge has double front doors that can be thrown open and allow you to become one with the countryside. The view from the Lounge is of the old communal bread oven (circa 1750) and then onto the hamlet. At the rear of the Lounge is a large twin bedroom with a bedside table, wardrobe and dressing table. This room is big enough for an additional bed or cot to be fitted if required. The view from this room is North across the courtyard and across the old well. Off the Lounge is the kitchen that is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, four ring gas oven, coffee percolator, dish washer and much, much more. To the left of the kitchen is a large bathroom with a 'run-around' shower, wash hand basin and toilet. To the rear is a private walled terrace with gazebo, table & chairs. Outside of the walled terrace is a brick built BBQ not only ideal for eating el fresco but also fantastic for sitting around during the warm summer nights to while away the time with a nice chilled Chardonnay !
Upstairs :- The Master bedroom, is a double bedroom with built in wardrobe, two bedside tables and dressing tables. This room has double French doors that can be opened with a view onto the courtyard, over the old communal bread oven and across the hamlet onto StJulien de Vouvantes. The Family Room, is a double bedroom with two bedside tables and a large wardrobe. Leading off this room, via an archway, is a twin room suitable for small children. The Family Room has a velux window that looks over our 2.5 garden, through an ancient hedgerow, across a field and onto a large wood where deer, wild boar and pheasants roam. Between these two rooms is a large bathroom with shower, wash hand basin and toilet. There is also a bathroom cabinet that dates back to 19th century.
