It's amazing what you can see here at Les Chaumieres Campagnardes!! We have lots of nocturnal and daytime visitors - here are just a few our guests can expect to see...........
Barn Owl Bats Fox Quite a few nest in the local buildings Watch yer 'eds. Loads of 'em. Common but hard to see
Badger Pine Martin Wild Boar Illusive but plenty of evidence Nicked last years duck eggs Very shy but can be found in the forest
Red Deer
The most common of the forest animals. Can be seen in the fields, roads, forest and occasionally in our back garden pinching the flowers !!! Oh Dear !

All copyrights of these picture are reserved by him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Birds seen in our garden :- Red Kite, Common Buzzard, Kestrel, Sparrow Hawk, Eagle Owl (possible nest in old Oak tree), Barn Owl, Black Back Gull (honest!), Cuckoo, NightJar (heard but not seen), Blackbird, Mistle Thrust (currently nesting outside back door) Magpie, Crow ( nesting in back wood), Fieldfare, Starling (nesting to front of house), Jay, Green Woodpecker, Spotted Woodpecker, Great Tit (currently nesting in cable end)- Blue- Long Tail Tits, Gold - Bull- Green- Chafffinch, Chiffchaff, Skylark (at a distance !), Wagtail, Great Shrike, Tree Creeper, Yellowhammer, Sparrow (nesting to rear of house), Dunnock, Blackcap, Spotted Flycatcher, Robin ( nesting in Bar), Mallard, Heron, Wren, Swift, Swallow, Wood Pigeon, Collared Dove, Pheasant, Groose, Partridge..... and last but not least...... last year we had a pair of nesting Hoopoo in the local area and the adults and their two off spring were regular visitors to our garden. Nice looking birds and a very distinctive call that, like the Cuckoo, carries over long distances.
and I am only just getting into bird watching.... I'm not even a 'twitch' yet !!! There are many many more that I cannot ID both in the Garden, in the surrounding fields or in the large forest at the back of us.
